As there are some pretty inhospitable terrains which must be trekked over to get to destinations far, far away, it's therefore essential that anyone who would willingly put themselves in a situation like this would ensure that what they cover their feet in will withstand even the most extreme environments, environments which would tear most footwear to shreds, so trying is it underfoot.
